Apparently, Keith Sellon-Wright had it bad at an early age. It was not enough that he was already a television junkie at an early age (in fairness, so were most kids of his generation). His earliest memory of entertaining is dancing directly in front of the family's TV screen to the theme of "The Rebel". (Johnny Yuma was a rebel. He roamed the wild, wild west…)
Fast forward to high school. While trying out the role of being a "hood", (which meant hanging out by the school bus barn and smoking cigarettes in dirty low-slung bell-bottomed blue jeans – laughable, trust me) his girlfriend got in a play. It looked like fun so he tried out for the next one, got the lead (in a Greek tragedy no less) and has never been able to shake the habit since. Keith was an Air Force brat, growing up in Missouri, Washington D.C. and ultimately, Colorado. He attended Cherry Creek High School outside Denver (with John Wells and Neal Baer). He went on to attend the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and ultimately received a degree in Musical Theatre. There he performed in all manner of plays, musicals, operas, oratorios and choirs (his minor was in classical Vocal Performance). After a year working in dinner theatre, Keith then went on to a year of graduate school at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco.
Following school, Keith spent a few years with the Denver Center Theatre Company. He then got involved in on-camera work for the first time in the local Denver market, doing mostly local commercials and industrial films plus the occasional feature or MOW that would roll through town while continuing work in the theatre. Finally, he moved to Los Angeles in 1987 and has been there ever since.
He continues his study of acting with his coach and mentor of many years Diana Castle, to whom he is deeply grateful for her gift of awakening the artist and humanist within him.
Keith is married for over twenty years now to his wife Bekka and has two step-daughters and grandchildren! Not surprisingly he loves his family very much, including his Corgi/German Shepherd-mix pooch named Gracie.
